Southwest Virginia’s newest comprehensive residential substance use disorder treatment center will begin accepting clients; ribbon-cutting and community tours to be announced
CLINTWOOD, VA — July 31, 2026 — Wildwood Recovery Center, operated by Momentum Management Solutions, today announced that it will open its doors to begin serving patients on September 28, 2026, marking the culmination of a five-year effort to bring comprehensive addiction treatment to Southwest Virginia.
Located at 230 Chip Mill Road near Clintwood, Wildwood is Southwest Virginia’s newest comprehensive residential substance use disorder treatment facility. The 112-bed center will provide clinically managed high-intensity residential treatment for both men and women, with plans to add lower levels of care over time. Treatment plans and length of stay will be tailored to each client’s individual needs.
“We have been working toward this day for a long time, and we are proud to open Wildwood’s doors to the individuals and families of Southwest Virginia who need it most,” said Matt Boggs, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Momentum Management Solutions. “This community has waited patiently, and we are honored to begin this work alongside so many dedicated local partners.”
The center recently named Tyler Jordan as Administrator and is actively hiring across a range of positions—from care specialists to support staff—with a strong preference for local candidates in Dickenson County. The facility is expected to employ more than 50 people at full capacity, building gradually from its opening day.
Wildwood was first announced in January 2023 as a partnership between Dickenson County, the Industrial Development Authority of Dickenson County, and Southwest Properties to address the region’s addiction and overdose crisis, one of the most severe in the Commonwealth. Momentum Management Solutions assumed operation of the facility in October 2025. The project has been supported by funding from the Virginia Coalfield Economic Development Authority, the Virginia Small Business Financing Authority, the Virginia Opioid Abatement Authority, the Rapha Foundation, and the Anne and Gene Worrell Foundation.
“Projects like this don’t happen overnight,” said Dana Cronkhite, Dickenson County Director of Economic Development. “They take vision, persistence, and a community willing to stay the course. Today is an exciting reminder that when we continue moving forward, even through the challenges, we can create opportunities that will benefit Dickenson County for generations to come.”
Wildwood will partner with existing community organizations and initiatives to provide wraparound support to clients, creating what county leaders have described as an “ecosystem for recovery” in the region.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony and community tour will be held ahead of the formal opening and will be announced in the coming weeks. Details on the date, time, and location will be shared with the community and local media once finalized.
